"History of Tenessee" located in the Sons of the Revolution Library in Glendale: James Love, our subject, is one of the prosperous farmers of Greene County, and was born about three miles north of his present farm in the Third Civil District, on June 20, 1824. He was the son of Charles Love and Hanna (Evans) Love. The father was a native of Greene County Tennessee, and of Engish extraction and was a farmer. The mother also was a native of Greene County and was the mother of fourteen children-- ten sons and four daughters. James was the fourth and was reared on the farm and educated in country schools.
