RESEARCHER: Information sent to T.Mason on 23 Mar 2003 by Joyce Willhoit <gwillhoit@kc.rr.com>. "Yates cemetery is located on Bryant Creek about 20 Miles southeast of Ava. It contains over three hundred graves. Over one hundred graves are marked with only rocks. Some of our county’s earliest settlers are buried there. The copying of the cemetery was done in 1974 so the newer burials are not recorded. A list was copied from the Douglas County Herald dated Thursday, June 20, 1985."
