HISTORY OF THE DALY FAMILY AS I KNOW IT: by Henry S. Daly
Uncle James as you know married Isabella Morrow, mother's third sister, and taught school forty years and was Judge of Boone Co. for 32 years. They had twelve children, five of which are still living all the way from 76 years to 89. He died there in 1878 at the age of 76. Aunt lived many years longer - lived with her son William. Boone Co. is filled up with Dalys and the record of the Co. shows there never was a Daly arrested for any offense.

RESEARCHER: Norma Ingalls cites HISTORY OF THE DALY FAMILY AS I KNOW IT by Henry S. Daly. "My Great Grandfather Michael was born in Dublin Ireland. Of tall stature, he was over six feet tall with blue eyes and red hair. He was a Catholic in Religion. I don't know when he died. His wife was an immigrant girly who came from Whales to Ireland. They had six children; four sons and two daughters. This is all I know as to my Great Grandfather and Great Grandmother.

Michael Daly, came to America in 1777. He later enlisted under General Green and fought through the Revolutionary War. He too was a large man with blue eyes and red hair. After the war sometime he married and settled near Knoxville Tenn. I met one of his Granddaughters in 1888 in Carrolton MO. She was a Mrs. Austin, a doctor's wife. She said her father died with the cholera in March 1851 at the age of 94. She was a very interesting woman to talk with. She seemed to know much of the Daly family. Two of her brothers were in the Confederate Army and one was killed at Corinth, Miss.
