Flora (Floy) Ellen Snyder

"Obituary: Flora Ellen Scott, 91 years old. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 10 for Flora Ellen Scott, 91, who died Monday.  The services will be held at Western Hills Assembly of God with Rev. Charles Morrison officiating.  Burial will be in Clinton Oak Cemetery under the direction of Heath - Griffith Funeral Home.

Mrs. Scott, was born 21 Jan 1886 in Tell City, Indiana, the daughter of James and Florence Lawalin Snyder, and moved to southern Missouri when she was 2 years old.  She was married to George Scott, who preceded her in death August 15, 1930.  They came to Tulsa in 1920 and she has been a Tulsa resident ever since.

She is survived by three sons: Lindsey Scott of Howell, Michigan, Willard Scott, Burley Scott, both of Tulsa and one daughter, Mrs. Fred D. (Velma) Cook  of Tulsa.  Also surviving is one brother, Carl Snyder of Tulsa.  Two sisters, Mrs. Alpha Denham and Mrs. Gladys Wooden have preceded her in death.

Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.  After her mother died in 1895 at Tell City, her father, James Snyder, married Ida West.  Her mother, Mary Florence Lawalin, died in Tell City, Indiana.  Flora was 9 or 10 when they moved to Missouri."
