Hans Jacob Holtzclaw

Ref: Holtzclaw Family Genealogy p 53; b.13 d. 8 Died between 16 May 1751 and 19 May 1763.

NAME: In Ancestral File was also known as John Jacob.

WILL: Jacob Holtzclaw's will January 15, 1759, probated in Fauquier County, Virginia February 29, 1760. In it he left 300 acres in Culpepper County, Virginia to his daughter Alice Katherine, wife of Henry Hitt.

Prince William's County Deed Book L pp. 58; Deeded 200 acres of land on Goose Creek in Prince William County, Virginia (later Fauquier County) by George Dogget and his wife Ann, July 22, 1748.

THIS INDENTURE made the twenty sixth and twenty seventh day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty six Between WILLIAM BAILEY of Prince William County of one part and JACOB HOLTZCLAW of the County aforesaid of other part Witnesseth that said WILLIAM BAILEY  for the sum of Twenty four pounds Current money do sell unto One hundrett ninety seven acres of and which said land was by PATENT granted to JOHN BLOWERS of the County of STAFFORD and by him relapsed by reason of the said BLOWERS moving himself our of this Colony and the Quit Rents not being paid the same became eschetable and a re-survy granted to the said WILLIAM BAILEY who intermarried with the daughter and only child of the said JOHN BLOWERS and by him sold and conveyed to the aforesaid JACOB HOLTZCLAW the said Re-survey bearing date the ninth day of Septembris 1745 the said and boundeth beginning at a Large red Oak mark't J B standing at the foot of the PIGNUT RIDGE and extending thence South West to a large chestnut between a white Oak and a red Oak corner to WAUGH DARNALL thence with DARNALLs line North East to a Hiccory corner to MACQUIRE line thence with MACQUIREs line North to a chestnut thence with another of his line North West to another Chestnut thence North East to a large red Oak on the side of a hill to the said MACQUIRs Corner thence North West to a red Oak near a Branch of BROAD RUN thence South West Two hundred sixty four poles contiang One hundert ninety seven acres with all the houses Orchards and advantages whatsoever belonging (all which premises are now in the actual possession of him the said JACOB HOLTZLCAW by virtue of an Indenture for one whole year and by parcel of land unto the said JACOB HOLTZCLAW his heirs and assigns forever.  In Witness whereof said WILLIAM BAILEY hath set his hand and Seal

THIS INDENTURE made the twentieth and twenty first day of June in the Twentieth year of the reign of our sovereign Lord GEORGE the second and in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty six Between HARMON KAMPER and CATHERINE his Wife of the Parish of Hamilton and County of Prince William of one part and JACOB HOLTZCLAW of the Parish and County aforesaid of other part Witnesseth that said HARMON KAMPER and CATHERINE his Wife for the sum of Tenn pounds Current money to them paid hath granted unto the said JACOB HOLTZCLAW and to his heirs and assigns a parcel of land containing Forty acres being in the parish and County aforesaid and on the East side of LICKING RUN being part of a Grand PATENT taken up by JOHN FISHBACK, JOHN HUFMAN and the aforesaid JACOB HOLTZCLAW and by them conveyed by Deeds to JOSEPH COUNTS deced and by him given and bequeathed in his Last Will and Testament to CATHERINE KEMPER the wife of the aforesaid HARMON KAMPER first part to these presents the said land lying between the land of ELIZABETH RICTER and ELIZABETH MARR and the land of the aforesaid JACOB HOLTZCLAW Together with all the houses and appurtenances whatsoever to the said JACOB HOLTZCLAW belonging (all which premises are now in the actual possession of him the said JACOB HOLTZCLAW by virtue of Indenture for one whole year and by virtue of the statute for the transferring of uses into possession) To Have and To Hold the said parcel of land unto the said JACOB HOLTZCLAW his heirs and assigns forever.  In Witness whereof the said HARMON KAMPER and CATHERINE his Wife have set their hand and Seals
