Martha May Little and daughter Martha Shaver Little moved to McAlester (Pittsburgh) OH where Martha Shaver Little married John Allyn Smith, the natural father of John. When Martha married again John took the name of his stepfather. John Berryman, an American poet, who was winner of the Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award.
