"All children were born in England (London area) At time of Emily's birth her parents, John Horner Winn sr. & wife Sarah Anne (nee Shirley) were living on Borough High Street, Southwark. Emily's father was a hop factor. John H. Winn sr. came to Toronto, Ontario in 1833 (via St. Lawrence River route). His wife, Sarah Anne & their children emigrated in 1834 (via New York). JHW sr. is buried in Toronto; wife Sarah in Montreal. Aside from John Horner Winn Jr who died/buried in Montreal, all others died/buried in the Toronto area."
