OBITUARY: Information sent to T.Mason on 13 May 2007 by Michael Samuel.
Carlton R. Samuel, 72, died late Thursday in a Prescott hospital.
  He was a retired farmer, a member of the DeAnn Methodist Church, and a member of the Farm Bureau.
  Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Gladys Burke Samuel of DeAnn; on son, Michael Samuel; and one daughter, Mrs. Peggie Sites, both of Hope; one brother, Paul Samuel of Los Angeles; one sister, Mrs. C.M. Burde of Pine Bluff; and four grandchildren.
  Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in Herndon chapel with the Rev. Robert Johnson officiating.  Burial will be in DeAnn cemetery under the direction of Herndon Funeral Home.

He immigrated on September 23, 1734 to Philadelphia, PA from Nassau-Siegen, Germany on the ship "Hope." This couple with most of the rest of the Nassau-Siegen Germans who arrived in 1734 settled at the Little Fork in Culpeper Co.,VA.  Their relations who had arrived earlier in 1714 were nearby in Germantown, VA.
