James Hawkins Neeley's will was signed June 21, 1880, recorded April 21, 1884 in Cumberland County Will Book H, pp 256-258, mentioned his wife Martha Jane; sons John and William: grandaughter Isabella Brown; Fannie, wife of son John; grandchildren Taylor, Clay and Mary _______, children of Ruth Neeley; he willed his ferry to his sons John and William. There was no mention of daughter Mary Ann Scott, nor of son Little Berry Winston Neeley or any heirs of his.
