FHL Film 1033872 Item 5. "After birth went into Kentucky with his parents where he was reared and spent his early manhood. His frontier life made him vigorous, resolute and of untiring energy. In 1817 he visited his relatives in Virginia and met his future wife, a woman of great amiability and charm. After their marriage, with their servants, they started their journey on horseback to their future home in Kentucky, but remained only about a year when they returned to Virginia and lived at "Cedar Hill". They are buried in the "Buckton" cemetery. They had three children, one dying in infancy."
