"John was born 26 July or Sep. 1732 (sources disagree), the son of Thomas Combs and, apparently, his wife Mary Shippey. He married Rebecca FitzRandolph. He is presumed to have died in Upper Freehold Twp., Monmouth Co., NJ, where he resided at the time of death.

Rebecca died after May 1809, when she returned to Chesterfield Monthly Meeting of Friends after belonging to the Falls (PA) Meeting for two years.
