Mrs. Daly was born at Powersville, Missouri, on Sept. 22, 1852. She married Mr. Daly at her home in Putnam Co., Missouri on April 6, 1869. The couple came to Idaho in March 1887 and have resided in Meridian, Idaho since then.
The 10 children of the union are all living, there being three boys and seven girls. She was a very devoted wife and mother.
The funeral of the late Rebecca Daly was solemnized on Sept 19, 1901 at her home with the Rev. A. Hartshorn officiating. It was more largely attended than any before held in Meridian, a very host of old friends of the deceased lady turning out to pay their last respects.
The coffin was banked with flowers, and at the grave there were many very handsome floral offerings. The funeral sermon was very affecting, the text being from the 14th chapter of St. John. The numbers following the remains to the cemetery were very great.
Pall bearers were Edward Hayes, George House, James Lawrence, John Davis, David Howry and George Gumbert." Image.
