Notes

Jacob DeWitt

According to George, Jacob's 3rd son, Jacob "went crazy" at about the age of 40. He retired from his position as barrister/lawyer in King's Council and moved to the country (St. Andrew's East, P.Q.), with his wife and young sons, where he and Julia lived at least till WWII, because letters from the boys to their parents are addressed there.

3933. George Hill DeWitt

George always told his daughter, Judith, that either he or his brother(s) was/were born in a house that stood where the McGill University swimming pool now stands. Judith thinks it was probably only Charles who was born in that house.

2894. Julius Edgar Ruppert

RESEARCHER: Information sent to T.Mason on 17 Feb 2004 by Rosemary Dager <durodager@hotmail.com>. Reports from family members state that Julius left Allen County and his family to seek his fortune in the state of Washington. His brother, Oscar, and a friend, Mr. Ehrhart drove out to that state about the time of World War II and visited with Julius. He was not in good health & Oscar was making preparations for Julius to come back to Indiana to live in a county home. Julius died before he was able to come back & is buried somewhere in that state. It is not known at this time what happened to Julius' wife or his children.

There were two other children of Julius and Maggie but the names are not known, nor when or where they were born.
