"I have in my possession what remains of Francis and Lydia Borden's Bible. It is of little satisfaction as to family records, for with the exception of the births of Francis and Lydia the other data are too badly torn to give a whole record of the names and birth of any one of their children... ."

"According to Shrewsbury Monthly Meeting Records is the above [Francis Borden, Jr. m. Lydia Woolley] and 1732, 4th of 3rd mo. John Wooley of Shrewsbury and Sarah Rundels were married at the home of Thomas Woolley at Shrewsbury.

This seems to indicate that John and Lydia may have been brother and sister and had a double wedding. The high contracting parties were - John Wooley, Sarah Wooley, Francis Borden, Lydia Borden. The witnesses were - Benjamin Wooiey, Richard Stilwell, Rachel Wooley, Pontius Steel, Mary Borden, John Wooley, Sarah Wardell, Sarah Harbert, William Brindler, Anne Allen, George Williams, William Wooley, John Borden, Francis Borden. (Francis Borden was the father of the groom and Mary Borden was his mother.) Also witnesses are, Ruth Wooley, Edward Fortner, Thomas Lippincott and Walter Harbert.

When we found the old much mutilated records of the Francis and Lydia Borden Bible in which it gave the date of the births of these two ancestors of ours, it proved very gratifying to the Rev. William White Hance, since Deceased, an Episcopal clergyman and very painstaking genealogist of Monmouth County for he had long suspected that Mrs. Weld in her "Borden book" was not correct in claiming that Mary was the mother of Francis Borden Jr's children, who were as follows:
Joseph,
Thomas,
Francis, born 1743 died at Imlaystown, Monmouth Co., N.J. He m. Elizabeth Parker,
James d. 1811 m. Susannah Robbins,
Rhoda born 23rd, 8mo 1748 m. Abel Robbins,
Mary born 7th 3mo. 1752 m. James Lawrie,
Lydia born 4th, llmo. 1754 m. James Ford,
Hannah born 15th lmo. 1757 m. -- Hawkins."
