Gleason Payne, was born July 26,1895, near Munden, Kan. She
died Aug. 9 at the Brodstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital at the age of 93 years and 14 days.
She grew up in the Burr Oak and Guide Rock communities.
Sept. 16, 1916, she was united in marriage to Roy W. Diehl at Red Cloud. Seven children were born to this union. They farmed in the Guide Rock and Red Cloud areas before moving to Superior in 1934.
She was baptized at the age of 16 at Burr Oak and was a member of the Nazarene Church of Superior for 20 years.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Roy,
in 1952; a daughter, JoAnn, in 1946; three brothers, Charlie, Floyd and Clarence; one sister, Verne Henry; and a
great-grandson, Matthew Heller.
She is survived by her children, Lamar Diehl, Mrs. Doyle Mellott (Ila), Melvin Diehl and Mrs. Albert Jorgensen (Shirley), all of Superior, Ted Diehl of Berthoud, Colo., and Mrs. Don Jacoby (June) of Salida, Colo.; 25 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; seven
great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Iva Dillon, Wilma Thornton and Sylvia Williams, all of Superior; one brother, Lyle Payne, Van Nuys, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral was Thursday, Aug. 11, at 10:30 a.m., from the
Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Leland Smith and Pastor Ken Fairbrother officiated.
Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.

Dillin, daughter of William and Elizabeth Payne, was born Sept. 14, 1898, near Munden.
She was united in marriage to Amos Dillin at Red Cloud June 15, 1918.
In 1940 they moved to a farm near Omaha. She worked in the offices of Father Flanagan's Home for Boys for 12 years. Upon retirement in 1960, she returned to Guide Rock.
Dillin was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, in 1960; siblings, Clarence, Charlie, Floyd, Lyle, Verna, henry, Gladys Diehl and Wilma Thronton; two grandsons and three infant great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, Keith Dillin, Dallas; daughters, Mrs. Loy Robb (Virginia), Guide Rock; Mrs. Chet Fee (Kathleen), Orlando, Fla.; Mrs. Richard Swanson (Margaret Ann), Kearney, sister, Sylvia Williams, Superior; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
